After we checked out of the hotel on Sunday, we got on the road and headed to Pompeii. I was really excited, but I wasn't really sure of what to expect. I thought it might make me sad or that it would be really overwhelming, but it wasn't like that at all. It was so interesting to really see how the people of Pompeii lived. Almost everything there was original...the streets still had grooves from the chariots, the lead pipes that were used for running water were there, the brothel still had paintings on the walls from 79 A.D. It really was incredible. Seeing the castings of the inhabitants that were killed in the eruption was truly fascinating. It was an unforgettable experience.

The sky cleared up just as we were leaving Mt. Vesuvius, so I got a couple of good pictures from the bus. The bus ride was long and I was so happy to get home in time to call Daddy-O for Father's Day. Wish I could have been there to celebrate!!
Love and Miss Y'all!
